I think it would have been phenomenal if the GD had played Supper's Ready from Genesis. On the other side, Genesis covering Terrapin Station would have been cool.

So the rule of this game is that you state the cover you would have the GD play, but then you must have the band that composed the original song you named, play a dead song.

I don't have a clue about what you are saying but the word floyd reminds me about the pink Floyds . It was my first live concert and first time a music blew me dancing high! This happended in London with my first hippies buddies ,early 60's. never care much about french hippies .To uptight, no sky high trips with them for me. so the london scene up then was about rolling stones and donavan hanging out in the same clubs I landed in .This was before the stones got world famous and the were then still a bit subdued and clean like little angels .They have gone a long way since then!!

Bobby's been covering Spoonful for at least 15 years. I saw him do it with Rob Wasserman in a solo acoustic show at the Chicago Theater. It was really great. Wasserman's one of my favorite bass players, along with Phil, Tony Levin, and probably Jaco Pastorius. Oh, gotta throw the Ox in there too...

How about GD playing 'By-Tor and the Snow Dog' by Rush.

Rush plays 'Weather Report Suite'.

I can picture it in my mind.

Wait wait wait, I've reconsidered:

Rush does WRS
GD does a Hemispheres suite of The Trees>La Villa Strangiato jam>The Trees

The Dead jamming on Raymond Scott's Powerhouse in LVS would've sounded awesome.

Hah, Suppers Ready - The jam at the end is just phenominal. Phil Bombs all over the place on that one!!!

Okay, how about Its a summer's day at The Greek, you've got Bruce and Vince on the keyboards and a rejuvinated Jerry and here comes the side 2 suite from Abbey Road - "You Never Give Me Your Money > Sun King > Mean Mr. Mustard > Polythene Pam > She Came in Through the Bathroom Window > Golden Slumbers > Carry That Weight > The End...

As for the Beatles, well its their Rooftop Concert era circa 1969/70 and sure enough if they don't pull out an early version of 'Til The Morning Comes" just written for the American Beauty album. John & Paul sharing the lead vocal...

Hope you are well...
